Ulm Christmas Market

This is the rarest of rare Christmas markets where there is something for everyone. It is but obvious that there are lots of scintillating decorations with twinkling fairy lights and lots of foil paper, what makes the Ulm Christmas market different from the rest is its diversity.

Music lovers can visit the cathedral where organ recitals and concerts are held in the evening. Where else can you find real sheep in the stables… an amazing way to spend the Christmas? Located in the Münsterplatz square, this market provides visitors a awe inspiring background of the Ulm Minister which boasts of the world’s tallest church towers.

Can you imagine its sight when it is decorated from top to bottom with rows upon rows of decorative lights? There are more than 120 stalls in the market which sell a wide variety of goods like the world-renowned teddy bear. Few visitors are aware of the fact that one of the world’s leading teddy bear factories is located close to this place.

And the fun does not end with Christmas. Check out Nue-Ulm, across the river, where the Ulm Medieval Christmas market is held from 26 November to 2 January. You can learn the art of knife throwing and archery too over there.(photo: Eugen Lehle)
